Current issues

The National Broadband Development Group (NBDG) held its 4th meeting on 16 July 2008 in Melbourne.

The key issues discussed were:

• Key outcomes of the 15th Online and Communications Council meeting
• The Building on Broadband Initiative
• Framework for the Collaborative Development and Use of Broadband in Australia
• Review of the Online and Communications Council

Two presentations were also made during the meeting. The Australian Government Information Management Office member gave a presentation on Service Delivery in Future Broadband Environments. A representative from the Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy gave a presentation on the Outcomes of the OECD Ministerial Meeting on the Future of the Internet Economy and the Korea, Australia, New Zealand Broadband Summit.

The next meeting of the NBDG will be held in September in Adelaide.
